Como estan?

hello everyone! i just want to update you really fast on something that happened this week. so the house of someone in my ward burnt dawn this last thursday. we had the oppertunity to go in and help him clean evrything up so they can rebuild it all. as the elders quorum president i am in charge of organizing a lot the reconstruction. i am very thankful for my calling and the oppertunity i have to help the people here. i have learned so much in the time that i have been the president. it really is amn amazing calling and it can be very difficult and time consuming if done correctly. i definitely have a lot of respect for everyone that has this calling. i am greatful for the opertunity the lord has give me to learn all of these things here on the mission =)

Hello Everyone!

How are you all doing? I am doing really well. I am very sorry that I have been terrible at writing you all. Ive recently felt like I need to change the way that ive been doing things so I am writing you all first today.

This was a very good week. we are working really hard right now. we are currently working very strongly with about 9 peopeland 4 are gonna be baptseed this weekend if everything goes to plan. we are atleast gonna have 2. we are just waiting on a few little things from the other people to make sure they are ready.



The coast is so beautiful. today we hadan activity in a huge forest about 30 minutes walking distance from the ocean. it was a lot of fun. its good to get out and just take in nature sometimes.



so i have recently started studying by topic here instead of just reading my scriptures. i know easter is coming up soon so ive been studying a lot about the atonement of jesus. it is a lot more than most of us think that it is. i would love to encourage all of you to study it a lottle more because it really is a huge miracle. i promise that as you all learn about the atonementyou will see huge changes in your life.

Another week gone!

Well this week went really quickly. seriously really quickly. it felt so long in some moments but now i have no idea where it went. im sorry that i suck at writing... i am working on figuring it all out. ill do better next week!

Hello everyone =) sorry it has been so long!

Hello everyone =) i hope that youre all good! i am really well. sorry i havent been able to update you all recently. these pdays are just flying bye. we officialy only have 1 hour to use internet too so it is a little hard to get everything i want to get done, done. but today i decided i was gonna write this before i did anything else so i can help you all get filled in a little

the coast is really busy right now as im sure you can all imagine. we are getting tourists here from all over the world. seriousy we have met a lot of americans here. its really diferent here. it has been going really well though. i get along really well with my companion. we also have the perfect miture of goffiness and serious too so we are having a lot of fun and doing a lot of work. our numbers arent crazy but we are actually getting a lot done. we work very hard every day and we never let our spirits down. the weather here helps a lot with that too. is is about 15 degrees cooler here than in santiago. (celsius) i am very greatful i am here =p




this change has been going so quickly. i am so surpriseed at how quickly time seems to fly. this week i finish my first 8 months of the mission. isnt that weird? i feel wierd about it =p but i am loving every moment of it. from the baptisms to the blisters to the miracles to the days when i am exhausted it is all amazing.




i really feel like i have come to know what real conversion is for the first time in my life. the church truly is amazing. there is nothing that i love more than the gospel because it gives all of us the oppertunity to have the other most important things in this life, our families, for the eternities. i know that with all my heart and i promise you all that it is real. there is nothing i want more in this life thanan eternal family and i knowthat i will never stop at anything until that is what i get. i know this life is hard but it is soo important that we always remember that if we stay on the lords side we will never go wrong. he cant lead us astray. it is impossible. yes somtimes the things we will have to do will be difficult but they will never be more than we can handle and they will aso bring the biggest blessings that we will ever recieve here. life is not meant to be easy. but we can overcome our heardships. i have seen so many people here do exactly that and every time i see it i am amazed.




i love you all so much and i hope you sll know that is you ever need anything you can go to god. he will help us even if we have completely turned our backs on him as long as we try our hardest to keep him has our main objective in the future. have a wonderful week and may you all be blessed.

another week =)

hello everyone =) how are you all? i am awesome! we had a really good we here in chile =) it was a lot of walking around but it was way good =) we had a meeting in republica today so i cant write much but i want you all to know i love you!

Its another week

Hello everyone =) how are you all? i hope that you all have had very good weeks =) my week was awesome. but very very interesting..........i ripped 2 pairs of pants this week. i think im gaining weight. i did learn a lesson though. ican no longer play with dogs because both times i ripped them it was when i was crouched playing with dogs. so yeah... oops.




so yeah other than the whole pants fiasco everything was really good. we are working really hard in our new calling. i started going to reunions and such this week. we didnt have as many lessons as we usually but its all good. we still had really good results in the church. i think that this new calling will be awesome and im excited to get to work in it =)

First week of the cambio =)

Hello everyone =) i hope that you all had amazing weeks. i dont have too much to say. i just want to keep you all up on my life. Elder campbell is my new companion and we are getting along sososososo well. we are really good friends already and we love having fun while we work so it is awesoem.




we also have a cool new project to work on these next couple of weeks.... i am now the elders quorum president in the ward in san antonio. elder campbell is my 1st counselor. i have no idea what that means yet but we will figure out wont we =P haha i am very exciterd to start working with this new callig though. its gonna be a blast. so you can all refer to meas president elder johnson now =)) haha jk =p but yeah my life is awesome and i love the oppertunity i have to be here to searve and help the people =) i know that this church is true and i know that if we put god first in our lifes 100% of teh hard decisions we have to make in this life will already be made for us. he cant and wont ever lead us astray.

CAMBIO WEEK!

Hello everyone =) i hope you all have had a good week =) this week is dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn CAMBIO WEEK. and guess what. i came home with another new companion this week =p and fore those that are countg this is my 6th companion in my 6th cambio of the mission. i am officialy the worst companion in the mission... all of my companions just dont want to be with me so they all get rid of me really fast =p hahaah jk. but yeah so my new companion is named elder campbell and he is from utah. he is the other missionary that my trainer trained or he is the other son of my father. yes that makes us brothers=p he has like 4 and a half months more in than i have. he is awesome. i sirved with him a little in my first zone (Ochagavia). he was there with me.




so i dont know if you all remember elder mertz but he was my companion in the MTC. well after the mtc we served in the same ward for 3 cambios and lived in the same house. then i left him there to come here. well this cambio he followed me and now we share a ward again. he just cant stand to be away from me for too long =p haha




so this week was really good. it was really hard though. a lot of the people from our sector are gone durign the weekends. they all go to the beach but we had the chancce to see some miracles too. we had the chance to find and teach a man that is very very prepared for us to teach him. he seriously is so ready. we got him to go to church this last week and he also went to go see a baptism that the other elders in our ward had. we also got a man that hasnt gone to church in over 20 years go to the baptism with his son who is an investigator =) so yeqah it was an awesoem week and i hoe you all had awesome weeks too!

Hey everyone!

im not gonna be able to write very much today i got all of my pics downloaded so i am going to use most of my time to get those all sent. i also wrote really late last week so not much has changed. we did have a baptism though =) so ill send those pics first!




i just want to share a quick testimoney though. i know that the role of member in missionary work is really important. the daughter of the lady we baptized was a reference of a member of another ward. if we hadnt have recieved that reference than we would have never had the chance to know sandra ( the lady we baptised.) so i know that these references and this help makes a big difference. through your help we are able to get into a lot of places that otherwise would be impossible to get into. we really can help your friends change their lifes for the better we just need your help to do it.

Better late than never =)


Hey everyone! i hope you all had really good weeks =) mine was really awesome. Happy 2015 =)




so sorry this is coming so late this week. let me explain why =p so monday we had to go to santiago. that is like a 2 hour trip there and a 2 hour trip back. we left my houseat 4:50 because we had to be in santiago in one of the churches at 7:30. we had the chance to do what the mission callls the Visa run. when i got to the church they gave me a list of dirctions and just told me to go... so we went. I had to go all over the part of santiago Called Republica to find all of aply far and recieve all of the government documents that i needed to get my visa. so we were there all day. we got back to our sector at 6:30. we were a little late but we got back as quickly as we could. so yeah that was moneday.




on the way hjome from santiago monday night we got a phone call from our zone leaders and they said that we were going to have a conference with all of the mission and our president the next day guess where it was. yup in santiago again... but it was in a part about 2.5 hours away. we didnt have to be there until 9 30 though so we gat to sleep in another hour =p haha but the meeting was very good. if anyone felt homesick after there skype calls before the skype calls they sure didnt after because we recieved a beating (with love) in the reunion. it was really good though. the bad part was that we dfidnt get back until really late so we didnt have much time to work. the next 2 days we couldnt write again because of the new years parties. almost everywhere was closed. so that brings us to today.




so yeah i had a really good week this week and i had an amazing christmas too =) i hope you all did too!




2014 was the best year of my life. i had the oppertunity to make the best desision of my life and i am living the consequences of that decisin right now and i couldnt be more happy. the amout of growth that i have experienced this year was crazy. that all being said though i know for a fact that tjis next year is going to be even better. it will be difficult at times and there will be many trials but i know that through these trials we will have the chance to be humbled and get to know god. i am, very greatful for all of the trials that i have had in my life. withought these trials i would never be the man i am today and without the trials ive had i would never be able to help these people here know god. thank you for all of your support and the love that you have all sent me this year, it really does help.




I hope that you all remeber that if we truly are converted this year it will be the best year we have ever had no matter what happens. i love you ALL! Have a good new year =)

Bad Mission Mom

I have been very bad about posting Declan's letters. He went through a phase for quite a while after Christmas where I barely got more than a couple lines from him, and I felt like there was nothing worth posting in his letters. To be completely honest, I was even a bit irritated with him because while I was hearing absolutely nothing of any worth from him about how he was doing, what he was doing, or about his mission, his girlfriend, Katie, was getting all kinds of stories and information and seemed to know all about his companions and what he was doing. She was sweet enough to pass information to me so I could enjoy some of it, but I was irritated with Declan that he wasn't including his family in that way. That seems to be when I fell off the blogging wagon. In April, actually on Declan's birthday, Katie ended hers and Declan's relationship. I had a feeling that I might start to get a little more Information in my emails once again. At first they contained a few more personal things about his feelings about the breakup, but then he started to try to do a better of a job telling us more information about what he is doing. He still is Declan, and there is not a wealth of information, but some weeks are great.I have save his letters and will play catch now.
